Eddie Omar Ramírez

is a first-generation Guatemalan-American pursuing his doctorate in the Counseling and Clinical Psychology PhD program, with an emphasis in Counseling Psychology, at UC Santa Barbara.
Prior to UCSB, Eddie was an NIH-funded BUILD PODER Scholar at Cal State Northridge, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with his BA in Psychology. Eddie also earned his AA in Psychology, Sociology, Chicano Studies, and Gender Studies from Los Angeles Pierce College.
Eddie’s research interests lie at the intersection of environmental justice, mental health, and technology—particularly in leveraging technology as a tool for mitigating and educating about the health consequences of climate change on low-income and BIPOC communities across California.
